Party Poker Network Skins

broken image

If you play online poker, chances are you're playing on a network-operated skin that shares player pools, liquidity and often the same cashier backend. These 'poker networks' exist to help offset the costs of starting and operating an online poker site, which can sometimes run well into the 6-figures and above. In most cases, you'll notice that most of your favorite online poker sites all share similar table artwork, avatars and more, with the notable exception being different color schemes to match that particular operator's brand.

This page will feature information on the top poker networks in the world, as well as information on the top sites on each. Don't forget to bookmark this as a reference if you found it helpful to you!

Why do some sites not use a 'standard' poker network?

There are some powerhouse poker rooms that don't operate on networks, mainly because they've invested millions into their product and choose not to share their software with other licensed operators. These poker rooms are often head and shoulders above the rest of the competition.

Party Poker was a network with their own poker room and several skins. The network shared cash game tables among all skins. Empire Poker was the 2nd biggest skin on the network and held their own tournaments therefore not participating in all of Party Poker's tournaments. Party Poker Statistics. The network utilizes something called the Essence Rake Algorithm which essentially works to help the network's skins attract more recreational players. While most poker sites reward all players the same, regardless of their ability and level, the Essence system rewards casual players even higher than the more experienced ones.

As of today, Pokerstars (and their sister site, Full Tilt), Bovada, PartyPoker and 888 Poker all have their own unique poker software and do not need the help of a network to prove profitable – in fact, they make up more than 70% of the world's online poker traffic (if not more…).

Popular Poker Networks

Below are a few of the most popular poker networks in operation today. If you're looking for brief company histories, traffic data and other pertinent information on iPoker, MPN, WPN and the Good Game Network, this is the page for you. We will hopefully add more to this reference in the future, but for now, I have singled out the more well-known networks out there today. Enjoy!

iPoker Network

The iPoker Network has headquarters in both Israel and Cyprus, with the company utilizing Playtech's innovative software to provide its players with one of the best online poker experiences in the industry. According to PokerScout.com, iPoker services 29 different poker skins, with most of their traffic coming from the highly lucrative European market. Their most popular sites include Bet365, Coral, Betfair and Titan Poker.

Rooms on the iPoker Network have over 1,700 real money players online during their 24-hour peak, with 7-day averages normally hitting 1,000 real money players. The site offers all the most common games like Texas Holdem, Omaha and Stud – as well as game like 5-Card Stud, 6+ Holdem and Fast-Fold Holdem.

MPN (formerly the 'Microgaming Network')

The network itself operates out of Isle of Man and utilizes their own Microgaming software to service its players. Poker rooms operating on Microgaming also share a lot of European traffic. However, since their servers actually operate out of Canada, MPN also attracts a lot of Canadian users as well. According to PokerScout, the site averages around 900 real money players at all times during the week, with over 1,700 players showing up around their 24-hour peak.

Party Poker Network Skins

Their most popular real money cash games are of course ones at the No Limit Texas Holdem tables, with Pot Limit Omaha also churning out a decent amount of tables for customers. The site also offers Omaha Hi/Lo, 7-Card Stud, 5-Card Stud and Draw, as well as Razz. The most popular MPN sites include Betsson, Betsafe, PKR, GalaPoker and NordicBet.

Winning Poker Network (WPN)

WPN is owned by Yatahay Ltd and operated out of San Jose, Costa Rica. They are a more traditional network to put it bluntly – meaning they offer a simple suite of poker games and advertise themselves as one of the few remaining USA-friendly sites left after 'Black Friday.' Their flagship site is undoubtedly Americas Cardroom, which offers some of the biggest cash games you can find online today.

WPN skins – most notably the aforementioned Americas Cardroom – have some impressive traffic numbers for being known as a small player in an industry filled with giants. In fact, their 24-hour peak is 1,300 real money players, with their 7-day average usually hitting about 700 real money players. They have huge guaranteed tournaments every month, and despite showing great defiance against USA gaming laws, the network continues to offer amazing deposit options and extremely fast cashout speeds.

The most common games on WPN are Texas Holdem, Omaha and Stud. Limits range from as little as $.05/$.10 to as high as $25/$50 (mostly offered at the NLHE tables – with some even having CAPS to reduce the risk of tilt on a player's behalf).

Good Game Network (GGN)

The GG Network ('Good Game') is a relatively new online poker network that caters mainly to the Asian market. Since Asia has restrictive laws in regards to online gambling, many sites simply choose not to market their sites to them. This is not the case with GGN, as they have made it their mission to provide the best iGaming software to its players throughout Asia – and to a smaller extent, Europe as well.

Editor's Note:Here is our full Good Game Network review for your reading pleasure.

GGN has offices in Ireland and in the UK, and their company has over 20 partner skins operating on their network. The software is very nice and is extremely mobile-friendly for both iOS and Android devices. They offer your standard suite of games, including Texas Holdem and Omaha, with most of the action occurring at the $1/$2 through $5/$10 stakes. Sites on the GG Network are VERY well-known for their fishy cash games – in fact, I haven't seen games as loose as theirs since the advent of online poker and sites like PartyPoker and 888 were like ATM machines for even the most common sense player.

If I had to choose a site to play on at GGN, it would definitely be Tianlong Poker. They have a great platform, amazing graphics and playability, as well as a top-notch selection of cash games at their disposal. Currently, players at Tianlong Poker can qualify for a bonus of up to 180% and a multitude of weekly guaranteed tournaments.

Other notable poker sites on GGN also include Natural8 Gaming, one of the more up and coming Asian-friendly rooms out there. On top of their normally stellar deposit bonuses, they also offer online casino games (video poker, slots, blackjack, etc) and have a very nice sportsbook where you can wager on your favorite teams and matches.

Good Game Poker Network could be an example of how to run a successful business in a crowded industry such as Internet gambling. The network opened its doors back in 2014, and has since risen from nowhere to the TOP-5 of the online poker industry. One of its secrets is to serve different markets with different skins.

GG Poker Network: Where to Roll?

If you play online poker, it is unlikely that in 2020 you haven't heard about the GGNetwork. The once Asian site now hosts millionaire tournament series and is planting face to gaming giants like The Stars Group or GVC Holdings. According to Jean-Christophe Antoine, one of the GGNetwork secrets is to convoke the biggest online operators to compete with the largest poker companies in their respective markets. In other words, to serve different markets across different skins.

GGNetwork Asia

GGPoker was born in Asia. And although it can now be considered now a global poker network, Asia remains one of the most important markets for them. Therefore, it's logical that some specific skins serve Asian countries.

Natural8 is perhaps the best-known Asian facing skin of GGNetwork and is targeted at specific countries such as Malaysia, Manila, Singapore, Vietnam, or the Asian giants: India and China.

Players living in Western Asia (Israel, Turkey) are welcome to join Good Game via 7XL Poker, a local skin that offers friendly payment methods for them.

GG Poker Network Europe

After conquering Asia, GGPoker Network focused on the old continent. The results have been amazing: after starting the expansion plan, traffic at Good Game Poker increased exponentially. At the tables, hundreds of players from Germany, Croatia, Romania, Norway, etc.

In 2019, GG announced that it would leave several European countries, as a part of a strategy to break into more regulated markets, just like they serve Sweden, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, and the United Kingdom. Unfortunately for grinders living in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Lithuania, among other countries, the network has closed its doors.

BetKings targets all markets, combining its bookmaker with an online poker room. Olybet serves the Baltic countries (Estonia, Finland, Latvia).

Offering legal real money games in the UK is a big plus for Good Game as it boosts the reliability of the network.
